Groove Merchants/Fly race team member Cody Lynn got sponsored, for a full
ride, by Felt Bikes over the weekend at the NBL Woodward National. Cody was one of the first kids I sponsored and Im
super stoked for him. Its an awesome oppurtunity and he deserves it for sure. Ill miss having him on the team but he will
remain getting flow from the shop as needed. We will be filling his spot on the team for the '08 season soon. Congrats
Cody!!! From what Ive heard it was a wild weekend in Woodward with all the Groove team members making their mains
and Hullenger kicking a ton of ass. Also the NBL changed a few of the class's and introduced the irregular gate
start that the UCI uses. There were a bunch of gnarly wrecks and injurys too. I think Im still mildly hungover
from the Interbike tradeshow in Vegas. Complete bikes seemed to be the focus this year. Stolen, Premium and Kink had some
of the best there. We will be getting the '08 Premiums in the shop this week with the rest of the Kink line coming in
by mid October. Stolen will be releasing a complete called the Sinner in February and its dope. Its specked out with stolen
and odyssey parts, all matte green, no brakes and a freecoaster for $400! S&M had the new anondized chromoly frames
on hand and they looked good. We will be stocking S&M, Fit, Revenge and Metal in the next few weeks. Thursday
night was NORA Cup awards and the good folks at Ride magazine had a free open bar for two hours prior to the awards and
I took full advantage!!! Thanks for the VIP passes Mike!! They had an oldschool Skyway reunion with Hoffman, Eddy Roman,
Maurice Meyer and Scotty Freeman. Discustin Pete Augustin was on hand as well! For more on Nora checkout www.bmxonline.com. The night was finished up at the Double Down Salloon watching S&Ms Chris Moeller getting loose. Everything else is pretty
blurry from that night. Sorry for the shop being closed Friday night. Steve had family emergency and had
to hop a flight out to Kansas right away and I didnt get back to Baltimore until late. Again sorry for any incoveneince. These
things happen.
Ill be heading out to Vegas for the Interbike tradeshow Tuesday. Interbike
is the once a year tradeshow for the BMX industry. Its a chance for companys to pimp their '08 product line to retailers,
networking, and seeing the whos who of BMX. With pros, products, punk shows and a whole lot of PBR this shit is live
son! The week is always capped off on Thursday with Ride Magazines NORA Cup awards and huge after party. Ill be sure to get
tons of pics for the site. Itll be business as usual at the shop this week with Steve running the show.
We have restocked the Busenitz Night Mission glowing Thunder trucks and re-uped lots of other trucks, wheels and bearings.
I posted a few pics from last Fridays Hesh Sesh. Its open to anybody and that shits not to be missed, I assure you my friend.
See ya after Vegas.
We got in a few of the brand new Bakers this week. The Francois Heads, Ellington
Drink Up, Greco Friend till the End and Dollin Skull Bowl. Dont miss the Friday night sesh at the shop tommorow, thats shits
been bangin' lately. Click to see some more video from Danged Ol Dan Depre. "http://www.youtube.com/v/urCFPK1dNic"></param><param
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. If you werent in the shop Friday
night you missed out on one hell of a skate session on the mini. All I have to say is Nathan Lode ollied from the ramp to
the pole, wall rode it and pulled it third try. ??? Seriously!! No new pics this week. However you can click on the link and watch Depre get his gnar on thanks to Youtube."http://www.youtube.com/v/22fojKvsw5c"></param><param
Not a whole lot of excitement this weekend at the shop. A good session
went down Friday night on the mini ramp. We watched Crackhead Dontrell walk by the shop, at least forty times on Saturday,
wearing a huge winter jacket in 90 degree heat and Cheese Teeth had his skate helmet bare ass farted into. The need for amusement
was high that day my friend... Hagerstown BMX had a great double race Sunday. We actually made it over there
and vended. We still have some Fly jerseys and pants on mega sale so get em now cause their going quick. We also are completly
restocked on ALL Coversion skate decks.
Were blowing out all the '07 Fly Racing Jerseys and Pants at cost. Jerseys
are on SALE for $14 and pants are $36. (while they last). That means you can get a complete uniform for 50 duckets
and thats damn cheap. We'll be in Hagerstown at the BMX track Sunday vending them at the races. Get em quick cause they
wont last long.
So I just got back from the NBL Grands in Louisville KY. It was the 30th
Grands so there was alot of Hoo Ha hype around this one. Kyle Bennett took the AA Pro Title and Jason Carnes took the Masters
Title. They did sort of a Pro show spectacular,Saturday night, that we dipped out on to go to the skatepark.
We had four riders off the Groove Merchants/Fly race team there but with Hullenger still nursing his dicked up jaw and rolling
off the gate we only had three. Hes getting better and will be racing again in no time. Jason Morgan looked good but got taken
out in the first turn with a shady pass in the semi and was out. Cody Lynn blew doors all day but got caught in traffic
and could only pull a fifth in his semi and he was out. And as for me... Well the grands curse got me again. My 13th was just
bad luck and I slammed the damn gate in my semi and got fifth and I was out. By the way thats my sixth fifth place finish
in a semi, when you need to be fourth or better, at the Grands. Groove Merchants made no mains and so it goes. Well be back
next year. We did however make two trips to the HUGE Louisville concrete park. This bitch is seriously BIG.
Depre flat out shut it down both days. For real son!!! Everybody stopped and watched when he dropped in. Seven foot turndowns
on a six foot hip!!! He killed it. I spent the whole time skating the 12x48' halfpipe and am now hooked on skating
big tranny. Ill get lots of pics posted up this week.
