Joey reppin' the Groove through the fisheye. Woodward East
"Slacker" Joey Richards: If you have ever been lucky enough to ride with Joey then you already know the guys has skills. He
goes big and burley with a "no bullshit" attitude whether its at the park or on the streets. He is also one
of the most positive energetic people I've ever met. It seems he leaves those positive vibes everywhere stoking more and more people to ride.

Off the deep end. Dan Depre

Dan Depre- Dans one of the most talented guys
I've ridden with in the last twenty years. He has the ability to ride anything well and make it look easy. I have to stop
and just watch every time he drops in. He already has a King Of New York title under his belt and hes going places fast.
Keep an eye out for this guy.
Ken Hensell- Kens the OG
of BMX in the area. If you live and ride in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia you better thank him for holding
the scene together for the last ten years. Kens a rail master. If you ever see one around and think its rideable chances
are he's already hit it. Four pegs and brakeless forever!
The Race
Team- Brian
Caron- Its not often you can say you have a legend on the team. When I first got into BMX there was already stories of "Brian
from Hagerstown". If you have been involved in BMX, in this area, then you either have ridden with, know, or have heard
of Brian Caron. The most well rounded guy in BMX is an understatement. Not only can he win a main in 35-39 expert, put on
a flatland demo or put you to shame riding street... He can do it all in the same day!!! His BMX resume would take up
this whole page. The thing about B is his absolute love of BMX. He s the ambasador of BMX. He started Hagerstown BMX track
and has made it one of the most well run and succesful tracks to this day. Its easy to claim how much you love BMX
but this man has shown it by hooking up and turning on, who knows how many kids over the years... He's
talked the talk and he damn sure walks the walk. Thank you B for everything you've done for BMX and thank you personally
for everything you've done for the shop. Ryan Hullenger- Racing 17 expert
ain't easy nowadays but Ryan seems to be holding his own just fine. He's turning into a consistant main maker and
is going to be a major threat in that class soon. Ryans way more than just a racer. He can ride anything. Street, park,
trails, whatever and then kick your ass all over the track on race day. He's also one of the funniest people I've
ever met. I cant stop laughing when Im around him.
Jason Morgan- For three decades
Jason has dominated the Virginia BMX racing scene. Nobody has a better gate than he does. Now as a member of the "over
forty" club he's going as fast as ever and maybe even winning more. This guy bleeds BMX and has more "Back in
the Day" stories than just about anyone. I dont think theres retirement in the plans anytime soon!
Chad Harner- Chads the newby on the team but hes definitley not new
to BMX. Coming from the 80s Florida racing scene he brings an old school flavor matched with new school skills. His
family is BMX, complete dedication. His wife Jamie rides cruiser and works nonstop as a volunteer at the track, his son and
daughter (Derrrick and Maddy) both race as well. Chads always down for a few cold brews and is honestly one of the nicest
guys I've ever met. Were super psyched to have him on the team!!!!!!!!!
Jason Morgan Jr.- Wow. You talk about big shoes to fill. Jason has grown
up at the BMX track. Following in his dads footsteps hes a terror on the track. Perfects and winning mains are just another
day a the Nationals for Jr.!!!!!!!!!

Jason Morgan. Groove Merchants Factory Pilot.
Veteran Team: Steve Kitner- As far as BMX and skating go in this area of West Virginia you can pretty much trace it all back to one guy. Steve
single handedly introduced, pioneered, influenced and maintained the BMX scene around here through the 80's. He had the
first good bike, learned the first freestyle tricks had the first quarter pipe and turned us all onto BMX racing. He
also opened our eyes to skating and taught us to build ramps. That day I saw him doing cherrypickers and peghops in 1985
changed my life and there will never be enough words to thank him for that. Steve continued to race until a few years ago
when he blew out his knee. He has since started skating again and continues to learn and progress to this day.
Tommy Edwards- Tommys a modernday renaisance man. He's a damn good rider
and skater, plays a mean bass guitar and builds hellbent hotrods. Tommys over twenty years deep into this BMX and skating
thing. Hes the Trail Boss and has helped to pioneer the Backwoods Trails, Nattywood Trails and the Ride On Jams. Although
he may take a few month sabatical from riding now and again he always picks up where he left off and continues to shred.
James Ayres- If one person ever "made it" from our
scene it would have to be James. After years of being a major influence in the Virginia BMX scene James quit his job, packed
it up and moved to sunny, southern California. As fate would have it, eight years ago, he landed a job at the now defunct
Snap magazine. (bmx/dirt sister mag of Ride) He helped to start and later was editor of BMX Business News, one of the most
creative and much needed magazines BMX has ever seen. At the Business News James ate, slept and shit with his finger on the
pulse of BMX. James can flat out ride too. He can hold his own in any park, run a set of trails and is a flat out fast racer.
James was instrumental in helping me start this shop. He started me vending and when I decided to start a shop he encouraged
me, helped to get me venders and was there with tons of advice. He also puts up with me a week every year, hauls me all
over southern Cal. and takes me to spots to ride that I've only ever seen in magazines and dreamt about. Thank You James.
Fred G- Fred G heads up security for the Groove and is quick with
the humpstick on the bendover so becareful. Arriving from parts unknown Fred made a quick home and alot of friends at the
shop. His daily duties include catching shoplifters, providing entertainment, eating chip crumbs off the floor and taking
naps. He enjoys a cold PBR and hanging out at races and dislikes skateboards, riding the mini ramp and falling out of
moving vehicles.
